Drawing

Yesterday evening after putting my daughter to bed I spent some time on my computer catching up with the world, news, emails, working on an upcoming article in an online fly fishing magazine about Tenkara (more about that later) and reading my blog subscriptions through Google Reader.

If you are subscribing to blogs and haven't used Google Reader you are missing out on a great tool. It is basically a one stop shop that pulls all blog updates into one place for you. You don't have to go and check blogs to see if there were any updates, just open Google Reader and you can scroll down through all updates.

Anyway, while going through the blog posts, I noticed a picture in A Year On the Fly by Joel DeJong. Joel is a very talented painter and last year his mission was to post one original painting or drawing each day for the entire year. Some of his paintings are also available for sale. So, reading his blog I noticed that beautiful drawing of a Sakasa Kebari. For some reason, it looked oddly familiar. Joel was setting up a treasure hunt for his readers to find the Tenkara fisher that posted the original picture. Now it dawned on me. That drawing was based on the Yellow Bee Sakasa Kebari that I tied up for the latest Tenkara Fisher Swap the other day. What a surprise and honor!

Thank you so much, Joel!
